ASTD Store Policies
All orders shipped to addresses in the United States are sent by UPS Ground and should be received within seven to ten business days.
Online at store.astd.org:
You may order products from the ASTD Store with MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express using ASTD’s secure online ordering system. Only credit cards are accepted for online orders.
By Phone:
To place an order by phone, you may call the ASTD Member Services at 800.628.2783 (inside the U.S.), or 703.683.8100 (outside of the U.S.). We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Purchase orders, checks, and cash are not accepted for phone purchases.
By Fax:
We accept credit cards and purchase orders via fax. Please fax us at 703.299.8723. If you do not have an order form, use our convenient printable order form.
By Mail:
We accept credit cards, checks, and purchase orders through the mail. Simply fill out an order form and mail it to:

Payment Methods:
Credit Cards: ASTD accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
EXCEPTIONS: Credit card orders with addresses shipping to Nigeria, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Libya, and Sudan will not be accepted. Orders from these countries must be prepaid by wire transfer and must include expedited shipping fees.
Checks: ASTD accepts personal or company checks sent via mail.
Purchase Orders (POs):
$100 is the minimum for a purchase order. However, PO transactions cannot be processed online or by phone. To use a PO, mail to the address below or fax it to ASTD at 703-299-8723. POs must be on your company's letterhead and must be signed. First time customers must prepay. For inventory product orders, it is recommended that you submit a completed ASTD Press Order Form along with the purchase order. Please include shipping and handling fees among the order total or your purchase order will be returned as incomplete.
By Wire Transfer:
Please contact ASTD Member Services for information at 703.683.8100 or 800.628.2783. Transaction must include your name and indicate specifically what product(s) you are ordering. Please provide a copy of the bank's transaction receipt when submitting this form.

ASTD is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization. Our Federal ID number is 39-0852310.
ASTD provides free shipping only to ASTD Classic Members who place orders totaling more than $50 and only if the order is placed and processed through the ASTD online store (store.astd.org). This applies only to shipping addresses in the United States. Orders are sent via UPS Ground. Otherwise, the below shipping and handling fees apply.
ASTD cannot ship to PO boxes. Please allow seven to ten business days for delivery. Rush delivery and overnight delivery are available. Please call ASTD Member Services for expedited shipping rates.
International Shipping and Handling: Orders to be shipped outside of the United States and Canada are sent by an assigned carrier. If any order is returned to ASTD because of customer refusal to pay customs fees and duties, ASTD will accept the return as per ASTD’s return policy, but will charge a 50% restocking fee transportation charges for the return. If product is returned in un-saleable condition, no refund will be issued and transportation charges will be invoiced. As stated on our Press Order Form:

All orders to Canada and other international destinations may be subject to custom fees. ASTD is not responsible for payment of these additional fees or for returned orders due to nonpayment of international custom fees. ASTD will not re-send these orders.

How do I know if I am eligible for ASTD member prices?

You may join ASTD online and immediately receive the member discount and free shipping.

Sales Tax:
Sales tax is charged for orders shipped to customers in Virginia (5%) and Canada (7% GST). Canada and Australia Goods and Services Taxes are also charged for shipments to those countries.
If you've placed an order online or by telephone, you can call ASTD Member Services between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday, at 800.628.2783 (inside the U.S.), or 703.683.8100 (outside of the U.S.) or send an email to customercare@astd.org to check on the status of your order. If you are an ASTD member, please have your membership identification number available for faster service. Monday through Friday, orders are processed twice a day for fulfillment. In stock products are usually shipped within 48 hours. Orders placed after 2 p.m. on Friday afternoons will be processed on Monday morning.
Downloadable PDFs (Infoline, Book Chapters, T D articles, and Research Reports):
Pdfs can only be purchased through the online store. Before purchasing pdfs, you must agree to a license use permission. All pdfs are available for download within 72 hours. Electronic downloads are not refundable.
If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the product you purchased, you may return the product in re-saleable condition to ASTD's fulfillment center (address below) within 30 days for a full refund, less a 10 percent restocking fee. . If any order is returned to ASTD because of customer refusal to pay customs fees and duties, ASTD will accept the return as per ASTD’s return policy, but will charge a 50% restocking fee transportation charges for the return. If product is returned in un-saleable condition, no refund will be issued and transportation charges will be invoiced. As stated on our Press Order Form:

All returns must include the original packing slip to ensure correct processing.
Electronic, audio, software, and items purchased on sale are not returnable. ASTD’s return policy does not apply to any computer software, audio, video, or electronic purchases. Unless an error on the part of ASTD has caused an incorrect shipment, ASTD does not pay for shipping of product returns.
